Virtual inspection basics
What a virtual inspection is, how it runs, and where it fits.
What is a virtual inspection?
A virtual inspection lets your customer submit verified photos and video from anywhere using a secure browser link — no app install required, with GPS, timestamp, device, and tamper checks on every capture.
Read answerWhat is the difference between a virtual inspection and a normal video call?
A video call gives you a live look. A virtual inspection gives you a verified record: structured steps, checked GPS and timestamps, tamper-evident media, and an exportable report you can defend later.
Read answerDoes my customer need to download an app?
No. Inspections and support sessions run in the browser from a text or email link on iOS, Android, and desktop — no install, no account, no password.
Read answerWhat kinds of inspections are supported?
Property and real estate, insurance claims, construction progress and draws, vehicle and equipment, warranty, rentals, utilities, and fully custom workflows.
Read answerHow do virtual inspections work for insurance claims?
The adjuster sends a geofenced, time-limited link at first notice of loss. The policyholder documents the damage from their phone, every photo is fraud-checked, and the verified set lands in the claim file the same day.
Read answerHow accurate is the GPS location on a virtual inspection?
Typically 5–20 metres outdoors on a modern phone. Accuracy is recorded with every capture, geofences are set in metres, and spoofed or low-confidence locations are flagged rather than silently accepted.
Read answerWhat happens if the customer has a poor connection?
Captures are queued locally and uploaded when the connection returns, live video degrades gracefully to a lower bitrate, and nothing already captured is lost if the browser drops.

Virtual support & live sessions
Live video, screen sharing, annotation, AI assist, and OCR.
What is virtual support, and how is it different from a virtual inspection?
Virtual support is a live video or screen-share session where your agent sees the customer's problem in real time and guides them to a fix. An inspection is a verified capture of evidence; support is a live resolution.
Read answerHow does a virtual support session work?
You send a secure link by email or text, the customer taps it in their browser, and their camera or screen appears in your agent console — no app, no account, usually under 30 seconds.
Read answerWhat can an agent do during a live support session?
Draw and annotate on the live stream, point, zoom, toggle the customer's flashlight, share screens, capture and label photos, run OCR, and get AI suggestions from your knowledge base.
Read answerIs browser-based screen sharing secure?
Yes. Invites are single-use and expiring, the customer picks exactly what to share and can stop instantly, sessions are encrypted in transit, and every action is audit-logged.
Read answerWhat does AI photo analysis actually do?
It reviews each captured frame, flags visible defects and conditions, checks that required steps were actually captured, and drafts a summary — as suggestions your reviewer confirms, never as an automatic decision.
Read answerHow does in-call OCR work?
Capture or region-select a frame during the call and OCR extracts the text — VINs, serial and model numbers, meter readings, licence plates, labels — into the record, ready to copy, share, or push to your system.
Read answerCan inspections and support run in the same workspace?
Yes. One workspace, one user directory, one set of roles and billing — and a support session can be promoted into a verified inspection record without starting over.

Security, fraud & compliance
Fraud detection, encryption, evidence value, retention, and ownership.
How does Virtual Inspection Pro prevent photo fraud?
Every capture is checked at the moment it is taken: server-side timestamps, GPS geofencing, device attestation, perceptual hashing against reused images, and detection of edited, AI-generated, and screen-recaptured photos.
Read answerHow is the media stored and secured?
Encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256), region-pinned storage, role-scoped access with SSO on Enterprise, and an audit log entry for every view, download, share, and export.
Read answerAre you SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliant?
Our security programme is built around SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 controls, C2PA content provenance for captured media, and GDPR and CCPA obligations including DPAs, data residency, and deletion rights.
Read answerIs the verified media admissible for disputes or claims?
Yes. Every inspection ships with a tamper-evident audit trail — verified timestamp, GPS, device fingerprint, and integrity hash — that a third party can independently verify, exportable as a signed PDF.
Read answerDo you need consent to record a session?
Recording is off unless you enable it, and when enabled the customer sees an explicit consent prompt before capture begins. Consent, timestamp, and identity are stored with the session.
Read answerHow long is inspection data retained?
You set the retention period per workspace. Media and records are kept for as long as your policy specifies, deletion requests are honoured within statutory windows, and audit logs record every deletion.
Read answerWho owns the data?
You do. Your workspace owns every inspection, media file, template, and audit log. Export anytime as ZIP archives, JSON, or through the API — there is no lock-in.

Setup & integrations
Templates, rollout time, devices, browsers, languages, and APIs.
Can I customize the inspection template?
Yes. Build templates with required photos, guided prompts, video steps, forms, signatures, and conditional logic — unlimited templates, with versioning so audit trails stay consistent.
Read answerDo you integrate with our existing systems?
Yes — real-time webhooks and a documented REST API push completed inspections into your CRM, claims platform, LOS, or DMS, with Zapier and Make connectors for no-code teams.
Read answerHow long does it take to get started?
Most teams send their first inspection within an hour of creating a workspace, and run a full pilot inside a week.
Read answerWhich devices and browsers are supported?
iOS Safari, Android Chrome, and desktop Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari — any modern browser with camera access. Older devices fall back to a simplified upload flow.
Read answerDo you support inspections in other languages?
Yes. Customer-facing prompts, emails, and SMS can be localised per template or per recipient, so a Spanish-speaking customer sees the whole flow in Spanish.
